Cerebral Palsy (Cerebral Palsy)

It is a clinical picture that occurs as a result of brain defects from early fetal period to 5 years of age. The effects vary according to the size and localization of the damage and cases of spastic and ataxic type cerebral palsy can be encountered. Patients with cerebral palsy may have movement disorders, spasticity, impaired speech, swallowing functions, defecation, urination and feeding problems.

What are the risk factors for cerebral palsy?
- Premature birth

- Low-birth-weight births

- Blood clotting problems

- Blood incompatibility

- Congenital or intrauterine oxygenation problems

- Brain hemorrhage

- Exposure of the mother to viral infections during pregnancy

- Smoking, alcohol, drug use

- Psychological problems

- Impacts to the body and abdomen during pregnancy

Spastic type CP is caused by damage to the motor cortex, while ataxic type CP is caused by damage to the cerebellum and is associated with loss of balance.

Possible damage in cerebral palsy;

Musculo-nervous system and organ damage caused by cerebral palsy can range from minor damage to involvement of one or more extremities, significant movement disorders, joint stiffness due to excessive muscle spasm and even bone fractures.

Although there is no definitive cure for cerebral palsy, rehabilitation programs, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, surgical methods, speech therapy, integrative and complementary methods can improve the patient's quality of life and lead to very satisfactory results.

Cerebral palsy is not a progressive disease.

What is the role of integrative and complementary methods and GETAT (Traditional and Complementary Medicine) practices in the treatment of cerebral palsy?
- Elimination of risk factors

- Oxygenation for elimination of anoxia and hypoxia-related damage

- Different stimulation methods for improving the function of muscles and nerves - Ozone treatments,

- Acoustimulation methods

-Acupuncture

-Acumeridian treatments

-Acupressor

-Neural acoustimulation

- Reflex stimulation

- Infusion therapies

- Complementary suplement support therapies

- Biofrequency-biophoton based applications

- Studies with Botox, mesotherapy and local ozone infusion techniques

- Integration of functional medicine practices in different protocols on a rotating basis
