Botulinum toxins bind transiently to the pre-synapse region of the muscle-nerve junction. It prevents muscle contraction by blocking the release of acetyl choline. It actually produces temporary minimal paralysis of the muscle. Since excessive contraction of the mimic muscles is prevented, the wrinkles caused by these muscles on the skin are also reduced.

There are different brands of botox drugs on the market. Although the duration of permanence varies between 4-8 months, it may also vary from person to person. The dose to be applied should be determined correctly and overdose should be avoided. In overdose applications made by brave or unconscious hands, unwanted effects such as meaningless blank facial expressions or eyebrow tips such as samurai eyebrows can be observed. With the correct determination of the anatomy of the facial mimic muscles, the patient's expectations, the properties of the drug and the correct injection techniques, it is possible to remove the wrinkles on the patient's face.

Anesthetic creams used locally before the application contribute to reducing pain. It can be used for frowning eyebrows, deep lines between the eyebrows, crow's feet, lines around the lips due to smoking, lip or eyebrow lifting.
