Functional Medicine

What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is the essence of the curriculum taught in all medical schools. It is actually a blend that each physician develops himself/herself over time in his/her approach to chronic diseases. It aims to intervene in different biological imbalances of each individual simultaneously and with different perspectives. It includes many disciplines such as biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, physiology and microbiology.

Functional medicine aims to find the underlying causes of the disease specific to the patient and to cure them by working with the patient to reverse the processes of the disease. At its core is the philosophy of health protection, which is also found in other traditional medicine methods such as acupuncture. There are blood values that we can diagnose earlier in acupuncture, but which we think have not yet deteriorated in today's laboratories. In acupuncture, we can make a preliminary diagnosis or suspect it very early. In functional medicine, although it is later than acupuncture but earlier than modern medicine, based on these laboratory tests, appropriate lifestyles are determined and necessary food supplements are made to protect health.

Many diseases such as rheumatism, osteoporosis, depression and dementia are caused by genetic structure, inappropriate lifestyle and chronic nutritional disorders. Reaching the real cause of the disease and eliminating it leads to the cure of the disease and provides treatment.
